Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook shows easy to master techniques as well as her distinctive hairstyles that are spiky and blond. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. In addition, she appeared on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her when she finished with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications with a degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing adventure for me. It was difficult to master, do or work enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. Through her stay in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the history and concept behind Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact on her culinary perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids kids who have challenges. As a guest speaker and coach, she travels throughout the US to talk about the joy of cooking as well as her professional career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share what I love most to others.
