Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston) and Freddie Wright, director of national operations at Mary Kay and
Freddie Wright. Her birthplace was San Diego, California. Her professional
career began as a model when she was 14 years old, and worked both in Paris and
Japan. After graduation from high school, she became an actress. She was
offered a spot on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), and she was nominated
for three daytime Emmys. In the initial season of the show she was in love with
co-star Dane Witherspoon, whom she married in 1986. In addition, she appeared
in The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title character. When she left Santa
Barbara, she was given the lead role in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She
was in State of Grace (1990), when she got to know Sean Penn. They had one
daughter Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood with
Tara, one of the most important roles in her career, following her time. She
was absolutely amazing and stunning. She was in Toys (1992) which was which was
a comedy starring Robin Williams. It was hilarious. Wright was in the
blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. She was nominated for a
Golden Globe Award for her part as Jenny. The film offered her a small role in
The Crossing Guard (1995), with Jack Nicholson. After being rejected for 14
roles, she finally got the main part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen
Densham directed her and Stockard Channing acted. Next, she starred with
William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
