Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2nd in 1964. She is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she received a Tony Award nomination), Parker gained notoriety for film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and The Maker (1997). Among stage and independent film appearances thereafter, Parker received the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her portrayal as Catherine Llewellyn in David Auburn's Proof as well as other awards. She starred as Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 to 2006. As a result of this role, she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Her performance as Harper Pitt in HBO's acclaimed miniseries Angels in America in 2002 earned her a Primetime Emmy Award as well as a Golden Globe. In 2006, Parker won the Golden Globe Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated to the Primetime Emmy Award. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker was back on Broadway to star in The Sound Inside in 2019 where she received her second Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play. Since 2007, Parker has contributed articles to Esquire magazine and published her memoir Dear Mr. You, in the year 2015. The show was a starring role for Roma Guy in the ABC miniseries "When We Rise" in 2017. In 2018, she was a political advisor on Billions which is an Showtime series.
